Living Statues meets Hairball
Living Statues meets Hairball
In its seventh year, Living Statues offers a unique and inspirational environment within which the public is invited to sketch, photograph, paint, or otherwise immortalize a group of talented Ballet Wichita dancers. The dancers will perform a series of short interpretive tableaux throughout the evening, coordinated by a soundtrack composed specifically for the event by local music scene powercouple Georgia and Torin Andersen.
This year the event will feature a collaborative integration of our Spring 2015 artist-in-residence Denise DiPiazzo’s ’Hairball_Stage II: the Gross Description’ exhibition and the interpretive choreography of the Ballet Wichita corps de ballet.
Artists and visitors are invited to use this opportunity to record these three to five minute poses. Everyone is welcome to bring their own drawing materials, but we will also have paper and various drawing implements available courtesy of Lawrence Photo.
Photos of this, and past Living Statues events, are available at facebook.com/fischhaus and instagram.
